Blackberry Chutney

So after all my Blackberry picking I was starting to run out of things to make with them I froze a batch and then found this recipe in one of my Kilner Jars. So I made some Blackberry Chutney. It was so easy to make so thought I would share this with you.

Ingredients I needed
1tbsp Olive Oil
1 Red Onion, finely chopped
3cm Ginger, finely chopped
2 Large red chillies, finely chopped
1 Lb of Blackberries
45g Caster Sugar
30ml red wine vinegar

Heat the oil in a saucepan and add the onion, chillies and ginger. Don't forget to peel the ginger, I didn't know I had to do this. Oops
So fry that for about 5 minutes until everything has softened.

 Step 2
Add the Blackberries and cook for a further 5 minutes while stirring during this time.
Step 3
Add the sugar and vinegar and mix this all in together.
Step 4
Bring to the boil and the simmer for about 20-25 minutes until the vinegar has evaporated.
Step 5
While the mixture is still hot spoon into sterilised jars and seal. I brought my Kilner Jars from Wilkinsons for only 0.75p.
This would make fantastic Christmas presents. I have yet to decorate my jars with labels and some cloth over the top to make this look more Christmassy.
Let me know if you give this a go and how it turns out.

Primark and Shopping Haul

Shopping Haul

Hello and hope you're all enjoying your weekend.
Yesterday (Saturday) I went shopping in Bristol with my two friends we had a really nice girly day. We went shopping and then for lunch at Frankie and Bennys.

So here is my Haul on what I brought while shopping.

So the first shop I purchased stuff from was Boots. I got the Garnier Ultimate Blends Sleek Perfector Oil. I have heard this is really good for dry ends and my hair is like that at the moment so cant wait to try this out. This cost me £6.65 as it was on offer. Usual price £9.99.
I just loved the look of this hand wash Carex Complete STRAWBERRY LACES. How fun does that sound and it only cost me £1.00.

Then I went to LUSH which is in all my shopping trips. I always try to pick different things each time I go. This time I have gone for Space Girl Bomb for £2.35 and Granny Takes a Dip Bath Bomb for £3.35. So cheap for a great little bath treat.
So then we went to Primark which is huge in Bristol 4 floors. I had to try and limit myself in this shop as could easily buy and spend so much.
Another hair product I brought to try out for my dry hair is this Argan Oil hair mask, this cost me £2.00.
Then my friend told me that Primark false nails are really good and last ages. They have so many pretty designs I picked a light purple colour with a silver pattern on then. Cant wait to try these for one of my next nights out. Cost a bargain price of £1.00
I got this cute purse for £2.00 cream with black spots on. I will use this when I go on nights out and I don't want to take all my cards out with me.
I got this cute little black pump shoes for only £6.00 these I brought for work as I am not quite ready to start wearing boots yet. Also black goes with everything so always a safe option.
I needed some new Gym socks so picked up some of these for £2.00 for 3 pairs.
I also brought some more of these Super Cosy tights which are so nice to wear and cost me £3.50. I think these will be one of my favourites this autumn/winter.
I got some cheap leggings at only £3.00 and they feel really good quality so hopefully these will last me a while. Leggings are my favourite thing to wear when its cold out.
Then I got some more of these Skinny Black Trousers. They feel so soft and fit really nice. They only cost £10.00. They do these in lots of different colours I brought the wine colour last time I went and wanted the black ones for work and because like I said before black goes with everything.
My last purchase was some of the Primark velvet coat hangers as I am trying to re-organise my wardrobe and I now have 3 packs of these. They costs £4.00 for 10 hangers.
I love shopping at the moment and cant wait to go again already.
Hope you enjoyed todays post.

Top Ten Tag

I have been nominated for the Top Ten Tag by Elle at Notes of Pentranella. So like every Tag I get tagged in I will love to continue and give you my Top Ten. Thank you Elle

So here are the rules

Copy and Paste everything in Bold
This Tag was made by Jessica Vannan at Pretty Chit Chat
I was tagged by Elle at Notes Of Petranella
I would like to nominate

1, Foundation
I use and have used for a couple of years the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation in the shade 10 Ivory. this matches my skin well and makes my skin more natural looking as I don't like to wear too much make up.
2, Powder
I use the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural powder. I have only just started using this lately as I forgot I had it. But this finished off my foundation perfect.
3, Concealer
My favourite has to be the Rimmel London Wake Me Up this is a great concealer I use this under my eyes and on any blemishes I may have at the time.
4, Blush
Blush isn't something I usually use and I only actually own one Blush so this has to be the one I list here. Rimmel London Powder Blush in the shade 004 Pink Rose. I need to find a blush I like and start to wear this more especially during the winter to make my skin look glowing.
5, Bronzer
The Bronzer I am currently using and love is Maybelline Dream Terra Sun I brought this months ago and its still lasting me. I love using Bronzer maybe a bit too much some days. Oops
6, Highlighter
This is new to me as only come across Highlighter when reading Blogs recently and I am also new to the Blogging world. So now I know I need to invest in a highlighter this will be one of my next makeup purchases as I do not yet own one. Any recommendations would be good in comments below.
7, Mascara
I love the Falsies Volum Express mascara by Maybelline. I have used this for a couple of years and it makes my lushes look amazing. I have had so many comments, people even asking me if they are my real lashes.
8, Eye shadow
I don't wear eye shadow much mainly because I am rubbish at applying this. The eye shadows I have in my makeup bag currently are the BarryM Dazzle Dust in the shades 1 and 51 they go perfect together and I use these for a night out. I don't wear eyes shadow during the day.
9, Brows
This is a new thing I have started doing and again only just learnt about from peoples blogs. I ordered the Avon perfect eyebrow kit. I have this in the shade blonde. I love how good it shapes my brows for me. I cant say this is my favourite as its the only eyebrow product I have used. So I plan to try some more out before I pick my favourite.
10, Lips
I use the Vaseline on my lips first then apply my favourite lipstick which at the moment is the MAC Matte Pink Plaid shade. A nice pastel colour that suits my face tone.

Thank you for reading.

My favourite You Tube Channels

Favourite You Tube channels/People
1, HelloOctober, I like Suzie's videos as I like the style she does them in. The way she edits her videos is very good. She is very down to earth and such a lovely girl. I enjoy her Vlogs the most.
2, Zoella, Okay I don't think I need to write too much here as if you are a You Tube fan I am sure you have already heard of this young lady. I am obsessed with her and think she is such a nice girl and her videos always make me laugh and cheer me up especially if I am having a down day. I love both of her channels but the Vlog channel is my favourite at the moment. Daily Vlogs keeping me entertained throughout September.
3, Gemma Jade, A new You Tube channel and the one that introduced me to You Tube. I never knew all this You Tube and blogging stuff used to exist. One of my friends told me to check out Gemma Jade and this got me hooked. I have watched all of her videos and then had to explore more which then got me into all of my other favourites. Please check her out if you haven't done yet.
4, Gabriella, I noticed this one as she done a video with Zoella and now pops up in her videos quite a lot. She makes me laugh, she is absolutely crazy but that's what makes it fun to watch. Gabriella also has two channels and they are both really good.
5, Tanya Burr, Which again I am sure you have all heard of. She is a lovely girl and so nice in all her videos I love watching her current daily Vlogs of what she gets up to every day. Also cant wait to try her new Make Up range.
6, Dolly Bow Bow, Kate has just had a baby but I loved and enjoyed watching the build up in her life about this and then the new Vlog of her baby arriving was amazing to see. She Vlogs with her boyfriend and they are such a cute couple and it makes me a little jealous. :-)
7, Lily Melrose, Her videos can be quite short at times but still as good as the others. I like the way she edits her videos with the music in the background. She is such a cute, pretty girl and I love her style. She is my favourite style out of the eight favourites on this post.
8, Ally Valentine, I like her videos as I find them interesting. Sometimes she talks a lot about designer stuff which I cannot afford so this does not interest me as much. She has just started up a website so looking forward to viewing that and maybe buying some of her new clothing range.
I am looking for new channels to subscribe to so please comment and let me know your favourites.

BB Seaweed Review

LUSH £6.25 75g Pot
Tonight I tried out this LUSH face mask pot that I purchased a couple of weeks ago.
My skin was feeling all dull and needed a bit of attention so thought I would have a face mask evening.
Firstly I cleansed my skin and took my make up off with Simple Cleansing lotion. I didn't worry about taking my make up off my eyes as do this when I get out of the shower afterwards.
The facemask needs to be kept in the fridge. I forgot to do this so only just put this in the fridge last night.
When I applied this facemask it was very thick in consistency. The smell is very strong but gorgeous, you can smell the seaweed but it also contains aloe vera and rose so this also adds to the smell.
When you put it on it feels so cold where it has been in the fridge but this also makes it feel refreshing.

So here is a photo with me with the face mask on. Thought I would scare you all or just make you laugh at least.
It says on the pot to leave the face mask on for about 5-10 minutes. So I just got all my shower stuff ready and by the time I had done this 5-10 minutes had passed and I could feel it getting tight on my skin. Always a sign to take the mask off when its feeling tight.
I got in the shower and used a face cloth to take this off. As I was taking the mask off it exfoliated my skin a little like a scrub.
My skin felt so nice and soft once I took the mask off . When I got out of the shower it looked all glowing (or maybe the light was just shinning on my face haha)
I moisturised afterwards with my Nivea cream and now I feel all cleansed, clean and relaxed. With extra soft skin.
I would recommend this face mask for anyone wanting to try one from LUSH.
Also if you save 5 pots and clean them out and take them back to the shop you will receive a fresh mask for FREE. Everyone loves free stuff. So its worth recycling.
Have you tried any LUSH face masks? Please comment below and let me know if you have and what you thought of it.

My Thinking Place

                              Bournemouth Beach

My new Friend for the day

Bournemouth Pier                                                         My Blogging note book
My lunch and reading material

I think everyone should have their own special thinking place. Some place where you go when you have lots on your mind, or you are sad, stressed or worried about stuff.
My Thinking Place is the beach. I will drive down to Bournemouth beach which takes about an hour and a half from where I live. I will go down on my own and just sit there on the beach.
I listen to the sea/waves and love the feel of the sand on my toes, this is what makes it so relaxing.
I always take a blanket or a towel so I can properly chill and relax out on this.
I would pop into a shop to buy some food to take down on the beach with me.
So all I do when I get there is lay there in my own little world. Its so good to do this from time to time.
Its good to just lay there and figure everything out in your own head so your in a better place when you leave your thinking place.
Today I am down the beach and the weather is gorgeous almost like I am abroad. As you can see in the photos above.
My dream is to live by the beach, so then I can pop down whenever I am feeling down.
I don't think I can advise a great thinking place on this blog post as everyone is different so everyone's thinking place will be somewhere different.
I am writing this blog in my note book on the beach and will type this up some time when I get back.
Where is your Thinking Place? Comment below.

Making Jam

Making Jam
So my blog this week is a little different. This is something I have done this week and enjoyed doing so wanted to blog about it this week.
Me and my friend from work went Berry picking in our lunch breaks. We picked a lot of Blackberries so I decided to make jam. I have never made Jam before so this was a challenge for me. But I was so excited haha.

These were the ingredients I needed
  • 1kg Blackberries
  • 1kg Jam Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1 Pinch of salt

So above is a photo of me making the Jam. It was straight after work so wasn't looking my best :-(.
Making Jam is so easy. You just chuck all of the ingredients into a sauce pan and bring it to a rolling boil then just cook stirring constantly.

So yes as you can see I had a little accident and walked away from stirring for about 5 seconds and my pan boiled over. But I managed to recover it. I just had more cleaning up to do afterwards. You boil the Jam for about 15-20 minutes.

You then transfer your Jam into Sterile Jars. I brought these Kilner Jars from Wilko's for 75p each.
If you are not sure how to Sterilise you jars just read up on the internet as there are a few different ways you can do this, dishwasher, microwave or oven

Last of all to make the Jar pretty I brought these cover, string and some labels from Home Bargains a set of 10 for 89p.
This would make really cute Christmas present and its so easy to do. If I can do this then anyone can.
I have been Blackberry picking again and plan to make a Berry Crumble next which by the looks of the recipe is also very easy.
If you try making Jam let me know in the comments how you got on.
Have you made Jam before any suggestions or comments I would love to read.

Weekly Favourites 28th August 2014

Favourites 28.08.2014
1, Bourjois CC Cream (Colour correction)
I seen this product recommended on You Tube by Gemma Jade another one of my favourite You Tube channels.
I wanted to try out a BB or CC cream so thought I would try this first. I got this on Saturday and it cost me £10. Its so amazing and works really well on my skin. I use this every day now and its my favourite current product.
2, Lush Bath bomb
I used my first Lush Bath Bomb today and it was sooo nice. I went for the Dragons Egg which was recommend to me as it lasts the longest in your bath. It was so nice it changed the colour of your bath to yellow but has lots of other different colours in the bomb. This also has popping candy and you can hear this popping in your bath. I find it hard to explain smells, but this smelt like a scent I have smelt in a spa before. Cant wait to try my next bath bomb.
3, Shopping
I went shopping twice over the bank holiday weekend. Once with friends on Saturday then with my mum on Monday. Its so nice to spend time with people close to you and shopping is always fun. I went to Bath both times and I managed not to spend too much money. Well behaved me.
4, Becky CJ
Zoella recommened Becky CJ in her recent favourites video on You Tube. I had to give it a try so downloaded her 2 LPs from I-Tunes. Zoella was right she is so good and I cant stop listening to her on repeat for the past week. Her music is so chilled and she has a lovely voice. She sounds a little like Kate Nash whos  music I also love.
5, Nivea Day Cream
This is my daily cream I use in the morning. I know its only a cheap moisturiser but it does the job for me. Its light on your skin so you feel all refreshed. It also contains SPF 15 which is useful in the summer. I would recommend this as a good cheap day cream to put on your skin under your make up.

Favourite part of your roast?
This has to be roasted parsnips as my top favourite. But I also love Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and mashed swede.

Question 3
Favourite dunking biscuit?
This had to be chocolate Hobnobs so delicious and even better when dunked in my tea.

Weekend Breakfast

 Sunday Breakfast

Me and my housemate decided to treat ourselves and go for breakfast.
We went to Frankie and Bennys and we sat outside which was really nice as it was a nice morning.
We both had the Big Breakfast which was so delicious, a nice sized meal and only costs £5.00.
The best thing about having breakfast at Frankie and Bennys is unlimited tea and coffee so we sat there a while taking full advantage of this.
We plan to treat ourselves to more breakfast mornings out as its pretty cheap and saves us from having to cook and clean up at a weekend.

Short and sweet today but thanks for reading my blog

Weekly Favourites 31st July 2014

31.07.2014 Favourites
I have had a very busy active week. With an interesting Friday evening bike ride where my friends peddle fell off half way through the ride then a drink in the beer garden.
Saturday was my nieces birthday so helped out with the birthday party, then had a BBQ Saturday evening see previous blog.
Sunday I was catching up with friends in a cute little cafĂ© in our town then a trip to Bath shopping. Shopping Haul will be my next blog so look out for that. Then my working week but manage to fit in a Mexican food night with my cousins and a nice run/walk along the canal tonight with a friend.
Now time for my weekly favourites. Enjoy.
1, Bed Head TIGI
Bed head Shampoo and Conditioner for colour Highlighted hair or Bleached Blonde Babes. Its strengthens your hair and helps it look vibrancy and healthy looking. These products smell gorgeous as well. My salon uses this on my hair which made me want to purchase. I found them in our local bargain shop for just £10 each a lot cheaper than the salons charge.
2, Loom Bands
Okay yes I know this is for children but when I went to my nieces birthday party and all the girls showed me how to make loom bracelets I then become addicted. I popped to town to even buy packs of my own bands and have made 3 of my friends bracelets which they will love. Well they say they do and they seem to wear them. It can be quite therapeutic so give it ago and its so easy. Just look on You Tube to learn how to makes these. Or comment below and I will do a blog on this.
3, Avon Lip Crayon
I see a lot of blogs mentioning the lip crayons so thought I had to try this out. I seen this in the Avon book and purchased one. The Avon crayon is actually very good. I got this in the Nude colour. It looks really nice on my lips and suits my skin tone. Worth a buy.
4, Eye roll on
GATINEAU moisture replenish eye roll-on this was given to my as a gift from a friend but its quite an expensive roll-on. I love it and use it 1-2 times a day. In the morning its great for waking your eyes up and in the evening I put some on to help moisturise my eye area.
5,Bradford On Avon
My last favourite this week in Bradford On Avon. I have been here this week for a walk along the canal. I am lucky to live near such a beautiful town as its only 10 minutes away from where I live. Its great for going along the canal for a relaxing peaceful walk and seeing all the canal boats. If you ever pass by this way you should definitely stop off for a wonder round. Some lovely views and lovely pubs to.

Happy Summer BBQ

My Photos from my BBQ on Sat evening

I have such a great weekend so far and done so many things. But the one thing I have chosen to Blog about is the BBQ I had yesterday in the evening. I am going to write 5 tips on how to have a Happy Summer BBQ. Happy reading.

1, Planning
So first thing to check is the weather, look at the weather forecast to make sure no rain is coming in. If no then you should go ahead. Next thing is invites, get texting/ringing the people you would like to invite. Might be a good idea to suggest they bring some food or drink along with them. I decided on my BBQ last min at 4pm yesterday and just had it with my housemate. So that was my preparation done in about 5 minutes.

2, Preparation
So the next thing to do is to go shopping for the food, drink and BBQ accessories. I popped into my local supermarket and brought,
Lamb mint Burgers
Homemade Beef Burgers
Chinese style kebabs
BBQ kebabs
Mojito Mix, mint, lime and lemons
Crisps and dip
Bread rolls
Disposable BBQ (as we don't have a BBQ)
All this come to around £14

3, Lets get started
So we lit the BBQ as we all know this needs doing a bit in advance otherwise your food will not cook properly it will just burn. I got a jug for my Mojito mix and put the mix in with ice, lemon, limes and fresh mint leaves. Looked amazing and tasted gorgeous. See photo above. I sat and drunk my cocktail with my crisps and dip until the BBQ was ready to cook.

4, BBQ is ready
Chuck your meat on ready to cook. I didn't do this part as I am not trusted to cook on the BBQ in our house haha. So I watched as my housemate done this while he attacks me with the cooking utensils. Before eating best to check the meat is cooked all the way through. Don't want anybody getting food poisoning now do we.

5, Eat and Enjoy
So time to eat and drink and enjoy the food. I love BBQ always tastes so yummy. Afterwards why not play some games. Maybe card games or Jenga always a good game. Just have fun and enjoy being outside in the long summer evenings.

Thanks for reading hope you enjoyed.

Weekly Favourites 24th July 2014

24.07.2014 Favourites
1. Straw Cups
These cups are so cute. My two good friends come over for a Pizza and a movie on Friday night and they brought these funky cups for us to use for the evening. I had a pink obviously as this is my favourite colour. I had Pimms in mine on Friday. The only downside with these is they are a nightmare to wash up. They are from Morrison's and costs around £1.50. Lovely gifts though. Thanks H and J. x
2. Ariana Grande
She is my favourite artist at the moment. I have downloaded the 'Yours Truly' album on I-Tunes which is her 2013 album but I love every song on this album and am currently listening to this every day at work and in my car. My favourite song on this album is 'The Way' (Spanglish version). Also I am in love with her latest single 'Problem' with Iggy Azalea which is on the radio every day so you can't miss this.
3. Starbucks Cool Lime
This drink is so refreshing and tastes delicious. Its been so hot in the UK this week so this has been a really nice drink to chill out and drink at the moment. We have a Starbucks in my office and I am addicted to this. Its part of the Starbucks Refresha range. Treat yourself and give it a try.
4. Simple Facial Wash
So this is called a radiance brightening facial wash, Mango goodness for healthy glowing skin. I seen this on the shelf in the shop and thought it looks different to just a normal facial wash. As soon as I first used it I thought it was so good. It foams in your hand and it has like a pearly glow to it. Once I have used this my skin feels so cleansed, moisturised and clean. I use this currently in the morning and the evening as part of my skin routine. Its a really good cheap face wash. SMILE ITS SIMPLE
5. Lace Skater Dress
Such a pretty dress from and it was in the sale for only £8.00 down from £20.00. I wore this at the weekend and it fits and looks really nice on. The front lace at the top of the dress is in shape of a heart and there is lace on the back of the dress. Also comes in black and white I think. But be quick its selling fast. (I might buy this in black as well)

How to be Summer Happy

So Summer is here and I want to give you 5 tips on how to be Happy during the summer months.

1, Spending time with family and friends
Always important to do this and can make any person happy. Get together with people and have a BBQ, Picnic, meals and drinks in beer gardens or even just a walk. Spend time with people outside in the sunshine soaking up the rays.

I love Festivals

2, Festivals and Street Parties
I love festivals and would recommend everybody to give this a go once in their life even if its just a day pass for a festival. I went to the Isle of Wight festival last year and it was such a great experience and one I will never forget. But also keep an eye on local festivals, street parties and anything going on near to where you live. I went to my local towns street party last weekend and it was such a laugh. I live near Bath and Bristol and we have many things going on. If you are not sure what's going on just Google or keep an eye on social media sites.

Summer exercise is much more motivating as we all want that bikini body. In the summer you could go for a bike ride, go stretching or do yoga out on the grass. You could even just go for a walk before or after work in the week. If you are a lot fitter than me then why not go running. Don't forget to use the app MAPMYRUN as recommended in this weeks favourites. I have just joined a running club but have not yet attended oops.

4, Music
So music makes everyone's moods better, well depending on what song you pick. If I ever wake up feeling a little down I would put DJ Jazzy Jeff Fresh Prince 'Summertime' on really loud, guaranteed to make anyone smile.

Mojito and Martini From a Bar in Bath

5, Foods and Drinks
Certain foods can up our moods and the two I have found and researched that improve our moods for summer are strawberries and Ice-cream.  I eat strawberries daily I LOVE THEM. I was going to write all the technical points to why they make you happy but don't want to bore you guys so you just need to take my word for this and eat these two yummy foods to feel happy.
I think drinks may be obvious, but it has to be Pimms and cocktails for the summer or Mocktails if you do not drink alcohol. My favourite summer cocktails have to be Strawberry Daiquiri and Mojito

So hope my tips and hints help you all to be Summer Happy
And remember always SMILE
